If you are a personal trainer, you know that every new client is different, and they have special requirements and preferences. They have different challenges, come from various backgrounds, and they have different needs. If you are in the process of developing your clientele, then your main purpose may be to make the people you work with feel safe and comfortable with the exercises you suggest them. It is important for you to stay consistent with your exercise program if you want to establish a good reputation. If you do not have experience in this domain, then you may not know how to design a program for your beginner clients. You have the possibility to ask for help, and follow the classes provided by an institution as Origym, or you can check the following steps. You should start by trying to put yourself in your clients’ shoes, because in this way you will be able to design a functional program for them.

Steps to build a beginner workout program

Step 1 – Check the client’s rep range

You should know that the rep range is a deciding factor when establishing a program for your clients. You have to talk with them and see what their goals are, because they will influence the rep range the client will need to be working in. For example if one of them is focused on power training, then their rep range is muscle endurance 12-15. The number of exercises and sets in the workout is determined by the rep range. The rep range also dictates the type of exercises they will be practicing, but also the tempo. When the client wants to improve their muscle endurance, you can use certain tempos, because they will be effective on long term.

Step 2 – Decide the primary exercises

The focus of the program are the primary exercises. The client will get their gains from this, and their progression will be measured according to these exercises. It is important to track every one of the reps and sets from the workout. When you choose the primary exercises for your clients, you should do it based on your knowledge and intuition. You can make them a body analysis and according to their goals you can establish a plan. You should make sure that you do not include in their workout more than 2-4 exercises at the time. You can ask the professionals from http://workouttrainer.co.uk/personal-training-liverpool to offer you advice if you so not know what primary exercises to integrate in the program.

Step 3 – Cardio is important

Some trainers are no big proponents of cardio, but it is an exercise that has its place and time, and it can be integrated into a resistance training routine. But you have to make sure that you give the client the needed rest intervals. Cardio is beneficial for both mind and body, so if you have clients with stressful jobs, then you can use cardio as a medicine for stress. However, you have to make sure that you prescribe them a cardio protocol that will fall in line with their needs and goals. If you properly program cardio, it can be counterproductive. Cardio should be combined with different types of exercises for better results.
