What is it?

CrossFit is a body workout which incorporates a wide range of exercises like cardio, core muscle training, weightlifting and intense body workout. It’s known that this kind of training is used in police academies, special military forces and by hundreds of athletes worldwide. Due to the exercises being so versatile, your whole body can benefit from it. This article is here to help you with setting up your own CrossFit workout session at home. You do not have to pay the extortionate gym membership prices when you got us.

Intense Cardio at home

What do you need to set it up?

Make space around you and put away all the things that can easily be smashed. We don’t want any injuries.

For 15 minutes for as many rounds as you can:

  • 10 Tuck Jump
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Lunges
  • Repeat

Cardio is an important part of your exercise. You will burn the extra calories, train your body to endure more and increase your energy for the next set of CrossFit workout. If you want to lose weight, you will have to concentrate on intense cardio exercises. This is because you build endurance and as your body moves, you burn the excess fat. When you are happy with the amount of fat you lost, only then you can concentrate on building muscle. Core muscle training

What do you need to set it up?

An exercise mat which you can purchase anywhere.

For 10 minutes for as long as you can:

  • 20 Crunch
  • 20 V-Ups
  • 20 Flutter Kicks

It’s important to workout your core muscle because it will make you have the abs of steal we are all dreaming of and it will strengthen the muscles that support our spine. As well as, it will improve your balance and stability because, in time, you will build muscle endurance. An advantage of doing core muscle training at home is that you do not need any weights or gym machines. You will get the same result doing it at home or at the gym.


What do you need to set it up?

Heavy things around the house such as cans of soup, bags of vegetables like potatoes and onions, bags of fruits like oranges or apples. You could also buy dumbbells from the stores.

For 20 minutes for as long as you can:

  • 15 Squats with weights in each hand
  • 15 Side Lunges with weights in one hand (you can swap the weights in your hands)
  • 15 Walking Lunges (using a gallon of milk bottle)

What is great about weight lifting is that you do not have to be a professional or someone with great knowledge of how to lift things. Sometimes it can be daunting going to the weights area in the gym looking around and seeing those extra muscly guys that totally know what they’re doing. It is important to note that you do not need to pick up all the weights you have at home (including your pet). Just take it easy and do the 2 rep rule which consists of doing one rep and if you can do the second one with ease, increase the weights.

It is important to know that you need to be realistic with yourself. You need to have the right diet in order to maintain the lost weight and your brand new muscles. If your diet doesn’t have the same goal as you, which is to have the summer body which is going to turn heads, then let it go. Instead of buying burgers and bacon, give salads a go. When it comes to diet it’s a trial and error, you must try them all to see what you prefer.
